Meet Adam Armstrong - Director/Teacher

Music for Aardvarks

Sunset Park and Prospect Heights, BROOKLYN

When Adam and his little Australian family moved to Brooklyn, he and his toddler daughter, Matilda, went looking for a cool kids music class. Adam and Matilda both loved kangaroos and all furry animals, so when they stumbled upon "Music For Aardvarks and Other Mammals!!" it was a match made in heaven.

They went along to class - with AudraRox! - and heard songs about taxis, and subways, and walking down Avenue A, and they loved all the cool rhymes about living in the city, and seeing the Guggenheim, and about rabbits that went to jail, and jamming with instruments, and dancing, and they were "bitten by the Aardvarks bug" (which sounds bad, but they actually liked!).

After Matilda grew up and became a full-time superhero, Adam brought baby Gabe (Gabe is Adam’s mini-me) along to “Music For Aardvarks” class, and he loved it too! When Gabe grew up and became a full-time rock star and astrophysicist, Adam decided he would like to share the joy of “Music For Aardvarks” with all the other little Matildas and Gabes. So Adam started teaching “Music For Aardvarks” classes all on his own (when he wasn’t touring the world being a world famous bass player).

Over the last 7 years, Adam has loved sharing all these musical treats with hundreds of little Matildas - who grow up and then send along their little Gabes. Adam loves bringing his classes to life, singing, playing guitar and making musical magic with the wonderful “Music For Aardvarks” songs, much to the delight of all the kids - even the "big kids" (moms, dads, nannies and friends). Adam looks forward to seeing you and your little Matildas and Gabes in class - joining in on the “Music For Aardvarks and Other Mammals” fun!!
